Fire Planning Zones and Fire Stations

The West Fargo Fire Department uses six different quadrants or planning zones for emergency response and community risk reduction efforts.  Each planning zone is developed to be close to four to six square miles, allowing for a four minute drive time for emergency units.  This planning process allows the department and the city to identify future fire stations to get the citywide response time as low as reasonably achievable.

Planning Zone 1 is the area south of Main Ave, east of 1st St, north of I-94 and terminates at the Fargo City Limits.

Planning Zone 2 is the area south of Main Ave, west of 1st St, north of I-94, and terminates at the West Fargo City limits to the west.

Planning Zone 3 is the area south of I-94, north of 38th Ave, and ends at the West Fargo City Limits to the west and east.

Planning Zone 4 is the area south of 38th Ave to the West Fargo City Limits to the south, west, and east.

Planning Zone 5 is the are north of Main Ave, west of the Sheyenne River, to the West Fargo City Limits to the north and west.

Planning Zone 6 is the area north of Main Ave, east of the Sheyenne River, to the West Fargo City Limits to the north and east.
