Notary Public

Notarization assures the parties of a transaction that a signature is authentic and can be trusted.

From North Dakota Secretary of State:

A notary public is an individual commissioned by the Secretary of State to perform notarial acts. Notarial acts performed under the law of North Dakota include:

  1. Taking an acknowledgement;
  2. Administering an oath or affirmation;
  3. Taking a verification on oath or affirmation;
  4. Witnessing or attesting a signature;
  5. Certifying or attesting a copy; and
  6. Noting a protest of a negotiable instrument.

The West Fargo Public Library has a notary public on staff. Please call the library at 701-551-8940 to see if the notary is available or to schedule an appointment. A photo ID with signature is required to have any document notarized.
