Police Chaplain
The West Fargo Police Department created a Chaplain position in 1995. This is a volunteer position with great responsibility to both officers of the West Fargo Police Department as well as our community and the citizens we serve.

Voluntary Security Camera Registration Program
The West Fargo Police Department has launched a voluntary security camera registration program. Community members and business owners with security cameras, video doorbells and similar systems can register to inform the West Fargo Police Department of the presence of private surveillance systems that may assist officers investigating criminal activity in the area.

Neighborhood block parties are a time for West Fargo Police Department officers to socialize and interact with the community.

Pink Patch Project
Through the sales of pink patches, the West Fargo Police Department is joining the fight against breast cancer and bringing awareness of the disease to the public. Patches can be purchased for $10 and can be picked up at the West Fargo Police Department or at Sandy's Donuts.

Neighborhood Watch Program
The West Fargo Police Department has launched a neighborhood watch program to encourage you and your neighbors to become involved in crime prevention and detection. Having the addition of the public’s eye on crime will assist local law enforcement in addressing issues within your community

The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation.

Community Service Officers
The goal of the Community Service Officer program is to help recruit and retain quality candidates to become officers for the West Fargo Police Department. The Community Service Officers respond to calls for service, such as vehicle unlocks, animal calls, and parking complaints. The Community Service Officers also work directly with the Fleet Manager for vehicle maintenance and deliveries to other government agencies.

K-9 Unit
The West Fargo Police Department K9 Unit assist officers in protecting and serving the West Fargo community. K9s are also available for specialized work such as burglary alarms, area searches, tracking and community engagement.

Overdose and Immunity Law
Heroin and opiate abuse is an epidemic. In 2016, opioid overdoses resulted in 15 deaths. It affects us all, rich or poor, white collar or blue. Young and old. Men and women. Heroin and opiates don’t discriminate and knows no bounds. As a community, we have to work together towards one goal: to end the opiate and heroin epidemic.

Fingerprint services are available by appointment only.

Offender Registration Hours
Offender registration is available 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Car Seat Safety
Child passenger safety technicians are available 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday by appointment only. Please call the police department at 701-515-5500 during business hours to see if a technician is available to answer your questions. Car seat safety checks are also available through the Sanford Safety Shop. To register, call (701) 234-7233.
Patrol Hours
Patrol officers are on duty 24 hours 7 days a week, including holidays.
