Veterans Blvd Construction Update
The following is an update to the notice that was issued on April 1, 2013.
A construction meeting was held yesterday (April 8th) to discuss the project and proposed schedule. After reviewing current weather forecasts, it is apparent that construction acitvity will not begin until the end of April. We will continue to monitor conditions and a notice will be issued at least one week prior to beginning operations.
We have revised the road closure schedule to occur in two phases. Phase1 (starting as soon as weather permits) will close north/south traffic from 32nd Ave to 36th Ave and will keep the intersection at 36th Ave open. Phase 2 (effective June 1) will close the remaining corridor south to 40th Ave east and west traffic with temporary delays as necessary. "Traffic Message Boards" will be installed one week prior to Phase 1 and 2 closures to notify the public.
A revised map is attached for your reference, still showing Sheyenne St to be the primary detour route. The corridor is scheduled to be re-opened for traffic by August 15, 2013. However, portions of work will continue until October 15 and traffic delays are to be expected. We will continue to communicate potential traffic impacts as they arise.
